Kristen Nichols
Kristen is a freelance reporter and copywriter covering Olympic and Paralympic sport for Suite101.com. Kristen's love of sport developed when she very young, and during college she had the unique opportunity to spend time living and working in the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
While working for the Internet Marketing department of the United States Olympic Committee, Kristen was able to immerse herself in the Olympic Movement and learn about each and every Olympic and Paralympic sport.
After living in Colorado, Kristen completed her BA in journalism and public relations from Michigan State University. She went on to become a staff print reporter covering politics, public affairs, crime, business and sports for several newspapers. During her time spent as a journalist, Kristen developed a strange love for AP style. Check out her AP Style blog.
Kristen also loves going to school, and often jokes that she has taken up the most expensive hobby in the world: attending college. In addition to her journalism degree, Kristen also holds certificates in human resources, business administration, small business management and professional writing.
Kristen began swimming competitively when she was five years old, is an avid runner, and hopes to soon add cyclist to her athletic list so she can compete in triathlons. She spends her free time at wrestling meets, reading a book or spending time with family and friends.
